Simon Cowell’s golden girl in ‘AGT’ is a real-life gem

DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH Nightbirde survives not just cancer but a broken relationship

By now, you’ve probably watched the viral video of Nightbirde, Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer contestant in the latest season of the “America’s Got Talent.”

Based on the video, we found out that Nightbirde is her screen name, she’s a talented singer, and an inspiring cancer survivor. But wait if you think that’s all, you got it wrong. There’s more to this golden girl that will truly inspire not just aspiring artists by all individuals who are fighting their own battles every single day.

Originated from Zanesville, Ohio, Nightbirde real name is Jane Marczewski, and she’s a talented musician. On her blog she posted on Nov. 12, 2020, the singer-songwriter revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer with a small chance of survival.

“On New Year’s Eve, I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Innumerable tumors were found throughout my lungs, liver, lymph nodes, ribs, and spine,” she wrote. “I was on the living room floor leaning over the report, head in my hands. Six months to live. Two percent chance of survival.”

As if this news was not devastating enough, her husband left her. “After the doctor told me I was dying, and after the man I married said he didn’t love me anymore, I chased a miracle in California and sixteen weeks later, I got it,” she wrote in another blog.

And miracle indeed. In a Twitter post last June 21, 2020, Nightbirde revealed that she was already cancer-free. But life has another plan for her, after another round of tests, she found herself battling cancer again.

“The cancer was gone. But when my brain caught up with it all, something broke. I later found out that all the tragedy at once had caused a physical head trauma, and my brain was sending false signals of excruciating pain and panic,” she says. “I have had cancer three times now, and I have barely passed thirty.”

But even though she’s still battling cancer, it didn’t stop her from joining “AGT” and to tell everyone, “you can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”

With her inspiring story and powerful performance, Nightbirde’s original song “It’s Okay” is reportedly one of the most downloaded songs in the US
