Protests have shaped history and current events like the 2019–20 Hong Kong protests, which was triggered by the government’s introduction of the Fugitive Offenders amendment bill, and most recently, protests following the death of George Floyd. People are taking back power and are doing what they can to find justice. While in the middle of a riot, one woman took the opportunity to go for her own bliss by looting a whole cheesecake. Justice has not yet been served, but if she can’t have her cake and eat it too in the idiomatic sense, she went for the literal. People on Twitter reacted to this—pun intended—slice-of-life scene.

While covering the march-turned-riot protest for Floyd in Seattle, Kiro TV news filmed the chaos unfold as people vandalized walls and broke into boutiques, including apparel stores Old Navy and Nordstrom and restaurant Cheesecake Factory, where the woman was caught on cam carrying the dessert.

In addition to the dessert, she also carried a bottle of champagne and glasses. Cheesecake and champagne, now that’s some pairing. The video went viral on Twitter with some tweeting about how funny the clip was while others expressed their thoughts against looting. Check out some of their responses:

George Floyd protests have spread in cities across the US after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was caught on video kneeling on Floyd’s neck for minutes, with Floyd repeatedly telling him that he was unable to breathe. As a result of his death, riots have broken out, reawakening the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

With all the things happening in the world, we all deserve a good slice of cheesecake. Just don’t loot, okay?
