Sailor Moon director Junichi Satoh is set to drop another masterpiece. His newest Japanese film titled A Whisker Away will premiere on Netflix on June 18.

This film follows the story of Miyo Sasaki, a girl nicknamed Muge, which means “infinitely mysterious.” She is secretly in love with her classmate Kento Hinode.

Even though Muge repeatedly tries to get Kento’s attention, he takes no notice of her. This unrequited love made her realize that the only way for her to get close to Kento is by transforming into a cat. But the boundary between herself and the cat becomes ambiguous to the point that she is forced to give up her life as a human being.

There is nothing catty about A Whisker Away, with a cast of respected names in Japanese cinema such as Mirai Shida (The Secret World of ArriettyThe Wind Rises), Natsuki Hanae (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Tokyo Ghoul), and Koichi Yamadera (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045).
